Description

The RB-1 is a lighting circuit that emulates a Prime MFG PM-8911 Series Electronic Warning Beacon “Stratolite” that were used by many railroads before the ditch light era. They simulated a mechanical rotation with 4 stationary bulbs that would flash sequentially in a clockwise manner.  The RB-1 is designed with the end user in mind to keep the installation simple and fast. It comes fully assembled and ready to be installed into your locomotive.

There are only two wires that need to be connected to the DCC decoder in order for the RB-1 to operate, this keeps soldering to a minimum. The RB-1 does not have polarized power wires, this helps prevent an accidental reverse polarity connection, which could cause destruction to the circuit components. The LED Cluster is small, about the size of a traditional “grain of rice bulb”, and will fit in most HO Scale beacon detail parts that are available on the market. Details West makes a Prime MFG Statolite detail component (part # RB-106), and is the perfect complement to the RB-1 circuit. The RB-1 has an operating voltage of 9 to 14 volts DC, and will require the function output of the decoder to be programmed so it can be toggled “ON/OFF”.
