HO Scale Dual Out Of Sync “Star 200BC Strobe Light” Circuit Kit

Description

The SL-1 is a lighting circuit that emulates the Star 200BC strobe light that is produced by the Star Headlight & Lantern Co. It’s an electronic warning beacon used to signal the presence of a train. While still in use today, it’s not as common as it once was on many locomotives and cab cars in the late 1980s and 1990s. The SL-1 has many parts included in the kit, and we have designed everything to keep the installation as simple as possible. Yes, there are some small parts in the bag, but our intention is to bring your model to life!

This kit includes the electronic circuitry, LED’s, 3D printed parts and instruction manual to help aid in the installation process (see above photos to see what you get in the kit!). Basic hand tools will be required to install the 3D printed parts onto your model. Glue and a soldering iron station with solder will also be needed to complete the installation.

For soldering, you will need to solder the LED wires to the SL-1 circuit board (after installation of most the 3D printed parts onto your model) and then, the two power wires from the circuit board to the DCC decoder. The SL-1 does not have polarized power wires, this helps prevent an accidental reverse polarity connection which could cause destruction to the circuit components. The SL-1 has an operating voltage of 9 to 14 volts DC and will require the function output of the decoder to be programmed so it can be toggled “ON/OFF”.
